I walked in and had no energy to see where I was but I did anyway. Much to my surprise....290 lbs went up. 15 lbs to go!

TPC of Michigan

Friday AM I put the little white ball on a tee at the TPC of Michigan. This was my second golf outing there in the past couple years. A very nice course designed by Nicklaus. We played a "shamble" which basically was a straight 18 holes with a twist. Everyone tees off and then picks the best drive. At that point you play your own ball the rest of the way in and take the best 2 scores in your foursome for each hole. It is kinda like a scramble but better for those "die hards" who hate not to play their own ball. My foursome was loaded with those diehards who worked on their stroke and wouldn't have a beer with me until the 16th hole.....after I had 16 in me. We ended up 3 under (tied for 1st).....I shot an 87. Then we went to the tiebreakers and I must say that my birdie in the #2 handicap hole sealed our win. $75 bucks for the Proshop.....which got me ONE polo shirt, a logo ball and a ball mark....what a joke. Needless to say golf was better then sitting in the office so I really can't complain!

Wilderness 2008

Well, we made it back without any serious injury. Once again a great time in Northern MI. The sun came out, some wind for big waves and Justin didn't eat all the sand on the beach. It was fantastic to sit on the beach without the cell phone ringing and the TV blaring. Rest and relaxation with a few activities mixed in.

If you get a chance to get up to the Mackinaw area be sure to see the lumberjack show. It was kinda corny but pretty cool at the same time. It's basically a one on one competition similar to the series on TV. A couple of younger kids throwing around chainsaws and axes.....how can you not have fun with that. I also played a little golf with my dad as my parents stopped up for the day to visit. The season series is now tied up as I bested him by 2 strokes. It was an extremely windy day which made things interesting!

After golfing I had to zip off the course and hit the lake on the Seadoo's. 2 to 4 footers (with some 3 to 5's mixed in) made for some fun wave jumping in the straits. Once again that took it's toll on the body and prevented Paul and myself from moving on Saturday. I guess we aren't 20 anymore. Overall, we had time and look forward to next year.....same place.....same time!

Crue Fest 2008 @ DTE

WOW!....You talk about 80's flash back. Plenty of leather pants, wife beaters, and tricked out hair. Marc and I went to Motley Crue's "Crue Fest" last night at DTE. Crue Fest featured Trapt, Sixx:AM, Papa Roach, Buckcherry, and of course Motley Crue. We missed Trapt but saw all other bands. What a great show. It is always fun to sing along with those 80's power ballads and jams. Speaking of power.....I sat right next to "Hulk Hogan" and he sure was fired up for the show. Marc and I had constant entertain not only from the show but "Hulkamania" and this 40 year old spaz in front of us. All we heard for an hour straight was the Spaz telling the Hulkster "That's what I talking about...That's how you do it!!"and then throw in the two 80 pound stoner's to our right and....wow...what a night! Good times had by all.

Back to Wilderness State Park on Lake Michigan after a years break and we can hardly wait. Saturday kicks off the annual Wilderness camping trip. The Seadoo's are primed, the 22' trailer is rented, and the wife is packing JT's toys and diapers. Last year we were not able to attend due to the birth of the lil' man but this year should be a great time with all our friends and family that are coming. Our clan will consist of the Kik family from Jenison, MI and the Hynes/Mathers clan which hails from the big city of Shepherd, MI. I can hardly wait for some peace and quiet....no TV and cell phones. The only noise we will hear is the crackling of our camp fires and the roar of the waves crashing on shore. We all hope the weather will cooperate....sunny skies and wind for the waves! If we don't get that nice summer gale, we can always jump ferry boat wakes which are on the way to drop off those fudgies on the Island. Paul....I hope we can visit the "Pony" for a few!!! Stay tuned for pic's from this years trip and if you make it up to Mackinaw....go to the Keyhole and wait. We are on the way!

Game on! After running our jaws for weeks the contest is on. A weight loss/weight lifting challenge. My friend Marc is looking to lose a few pounds but need some motivation. What better motivation than a bet for some cash...... The challenge....Marc wants to lose 15% of his body weight by December 6th and I have to increase my bench press 15%. So today is the day....GAME ON!
